🎯 My Personal Journey

My encounter with the concepts of breathing and movement came from reading about Ikigai in several books and podcasts, as well as learning from various shows on human physiology.

I have applied this newfound knowledge during high-pressure moments in my life, where conscious breathing has been immensely helpful. For example, when I was unexpectedly called upon to play my first soccer match with my social football club — Mobile FC, I experienced a sudden surge of tension and anxiety, similar to the feeling of standing on a stage with a large audience watching.

By focusing on my breath, I was able to calm my nerves, stay present, and perform better on the field. This simple yet powerful technique allowed me to face the challenge with confidence and composure.

We, as humans, experience various rushes throughout our days, but often we have no clue how to deal with them. Situations like:

  • A major bug deployed to production causing a disaster.
  • Public speaking to an audience.
  • Last-minute deadline changes.
  • Handling difficult personnel decisions.

Accumulation of these experiences can cause immense stress. I’ve been there too, but the key difference between my past self and my current self is the incorporation of conscious breathing and intentional movement (exercising, swimming, soccer, etc.) in my life.
